Hello,
do you know where I can find serial numbers updated to the latest production, at least after 2010?

I posted the following here seven years ago, and I believe it still holds true:

If you want a definitive answer, email Yanagisawa. That's the only way. The serial number tables available online are not up-to-date, and in any case are not necessarily official.

It's usually possible to extrapolate from the closest reliable numbers to arrive at a good estimate of the year of manufacture. . . . If you need a recent marker, my TWO1 is 00346xxx. There's a very high probability that this horn was made in 2015, because that's when the model was introduced (slight possibility it was made in 2014).
P.S. Most serial number lists available online, regardless of manufacturer, seem to be two decades out of date. It's as if a major effort was made to collect this information early in the World Wide Web era, and then no one followed up.

Based on the chart I have, they made about 38,000 instruments from 2000-2005 and 39,000 from 2005-2010. If 346000 was sometime in 2015, then it would seem they made around 40,000 from 2010-2015.

Extrapolate that out another 5 years, and 2020 would've been somewhere around 380K-390K.

I keep statistics on sales on eBay and Yahoo, sometimes I come across photos of warranty cards, where the date of the first sale is indicated. Here are some of them. The production date is accordingly a little earlier.
303xxx - 2010
313xxx - 2011
318xxx - 2012
328xxx - 2013
349xxx - 2015
365xxx - 2017
380xxx - 2019
385xxx - 2020
The last number I saw is 4058xx. I guess it's 2023.
Making a request to the factory is useless - I tried, there was no answer.

Seems quite close. I bought my TWO1 very late in the 2020 and it is a 380xxx.

Thanks
There is no mail address about Yanagisawa in Japan so I emailed Yanagisawa UK, also on FB:
no response but I'm not surprised ...

I was just curious about the year of production, I have no plan of selling it, at least for now.
they always hold their value
Until recently I thought so too, now I'm not so sure.

@LostConn
I remember years ago I bought an A-901 new for about €1600 and sold it for the same price 6 years later.
Lately I have been struggling a lot to sell my S-901 for much less than I bought it (new).
I started a discussion here about Yanagisawa losing market, maybe is not, but I think it is losing appeal over other brands that, at the same time, are gaining appreciation

This is a bit of an open ended question. Sometimes we look through local adverts and gage a mid range value. Other times we look at the past three months sales on eBay.

It is relative to the condition it's in, age of pads, specific model number and local demand in you area. It can also be influenced by the time of the year, say when students return back to their classes.

You better off posting quite a number of photos of your horn so some on here can help you out.
