I while ago, I bought an Atti Python mouthpiece. Atti is an Italian jazz saxophonist, there are also some posts on it, but he doesn't make this mouthpiece anymore. I made a mistake in selling it, it was incredibly loud in a room, you had to open the windows :) Unfortunately, it's hard to find a used one. Can you recommend something similar, that is, with a big but super powerful and aggressive sound? Thanks.

I wasn't familiar with the Atti Python, so looked it up and of course Steve Neff has a review Attisound Python Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece Review

Just posting this to save others' time.

I am no mouthpiece expert so I will leave it to others who are more familiar with the possible options. A hint as to budget range might help for recommendations.

I always wanted to try one of those, but I knew it wasn't the type of piece I was looking for -- I don't really play a ton of paint peelers -- and couldn't justify dropping that kind of cash for one.

That said, how about something like the Saxscape Downtown MB I, or some other Guardala/Brecker inspired piece? I have a Downtown, and it's plenty bright and powerfull, but can be toned down with a little practice.

My other thought, since you're in Italy, would be to contact @absolute (absolutesax.com) and see if they have any of their old stainless steel tenor "Plus" models around the shop they could sell. They don't have them on their website anymore, but maybe...

The 3D files are great, but I don't think any of their 3D models are all that bright, even the Slim bari, which surprised me, and which I absolutely love. They just released a new model, the Power, that might work, and I'm assuming the files will be available soon, but their first mouthpieces were stainless, and much like the Atti mouthpieces, I always wanted to try them, though I wanted the darker of the two models. The Plus seems like it might be what you're looking for.

Also, for Saxscape, in addition to the Downtown MB I the website (saxscape.com) describes his "Red River" model thusly:
"Huge bright sound with a large chamber, the next level from a Berg Larsen." I've never seen one in the wild, but I'm sure he'd make one for you.

Not sure how tariffs and fees would affect your ability to purchase from him, but it's a thought.

I'll bet the neighbors loved that!

The loudest tenor mpc I've ever played, that still has a good tone, is an RPC 120 with a high step baffle. Also, a PPT with a .125 tip. There are numerous high baffle mpcs that will do the job. You have plenty to choose from.

I have no idea if he's still in production. I have seen pieces of his for sale on the internet, so they are around, but possibly not very new. His SB is nearly as bright and loud as the DD. I have a TW Shiva that I'm no longer using (not dong any more open air concerts). You can have that for $350 USD + shipping.

I'm getting kind of old for live performances, so probably need to start moving on some of the mouthpieces and horns I have.

I am seeing a back bore or modified chamber that is unlike any Berg I have ever seen. It reminds me of the chamber of the older Francois Louis “Spectruoso” SP models.

Vigilante Mouthpieces offers the option of a back bore ring in several models.

Looks like Mojo has one left. These are really unique. I've had a few sessions with Carlo who actually came to Toronto from Italy to do mouthpiece work for a few days (we met when I was apprenticing with Ted Klum). To date these are the most aggressive/ edgy pieces I've ever worked on or heard. I love Carlo but after a day of hanging I had the worst headache I've ever had. These aren't meant for small rooms, lol. Good luck with the search. Worst case, reach out to Carlo.

That's how I felt about the Ted Klum London (I haven't played a New London). I couldn't turn down the volume enough to play with a big band section (the TK FocusTone was fine).
