I like most of them, especially the new one with the WDR Bigband is awesome - he also sings really great. But "Southern Exposure" touches me more then all the others.
"...ME and the drummer check it out..." >>> Goes to awesome "false fingering" chromatic solo. This album was also my first introduction to Candy Dulfer.
I haven't listened to may of his albums but a year or two back I got the
double album recorded live in Germany.
One CD is a tribute to Ray Charles. Very good. In fact in some places
I think he sounds better that the great Mr. Ray Charles.
The 2nd CD is the one that really knocks me out.
Not so much because of his playing which is okay, but the groove
with Dennis Chambers is awesome. If you can sit still listening to that
you deserve to be mummyfied.
The German big band is great and some of their soloists are excellent.
I like Roots ad Grooves a lot, but this is my favorite i've ever found.
