Some of you may know that I recently purchased a P. Mauriat 67R alto from Dave at Junkdude. I want to post a positive review about them here so others who are new or wary of online transactions will find some reference to Junkdude from someone. Feel free to pm or email me (darkelt_tim AT hotmail dot com) about my experience if you want more detailed answers. I understand buying a sax especially online can be risky so ask away :) This is the first sax I bought online so yea, the wait for shipping really made me antsy haha.

Dave is really patient with answering questions. I drilled er asked him non stop for like 20 minutes the other day and he answered them to the best of his knowledge. Best part about it was that if he didn't know or wasn't sure he wouldn't sling you a fantasy story but would tell you outright that he has no idea ... but would check it out for you. He would give you the pros and cons for everything so you understand the full situation.

My sax was a bit delayed during shipping to Canada. From past experience, I knew to quickly follow up and check on it asap. Dave gave me all the info I needed and checked on his end. I called Canada post and had them check as well. Which i think worked as suddenly the sax appeared the next day where the person from Canada post said it might still take another week. (Customs did not open the sax)

Anyways, here's my vouch for Dave. If you are in the Ohio area or are looking for a sax online. Add Junkdude dot com to your list of trustworthy options.

Went to Junkdude for the first time on Saturday (after many phone conversations and small orders over the past year or so). It was great to meet Dave and Theresa. I had two of my quartet members with me and we had emailed Dave a list of what we wanted to try. He had everything ready for us, kept bringing us more horns and answered any questions we had.

I ended up trading for an Antigua 586 and my friend bought a really nice Big B alto.

Dave was great to deal with, extremely helpful and very fair.

He has some great horns, vintage and used, and I'd definitely recommend him.

Junk Dude is the best! I've done business with Dave for (hmmm, I'm trying to think how long it's been) at least 4 years. I've purchased horns, traded horns, ordered mouthpieces, ligatures, reeds, etc....even vintage LP records. I've never had a problem with Dave or the products that I purchased from him. He's ALWAYS helpful and his level of customer service sets a high bar. I acquired my 1934 Buescher New Aristocrat (2676xx) tenor from Dave. I'll always be grateful to him for that trade! Most recently, I got a 1935 Buescher stencil tenor from Dave that turned out to be a great sounding horn. Like Sigmund, Dave has come to have a good sense of what I like in a horn.

I just bought a P. Mauriat alto from Dave. I have been visiting him for the last 2 + years, trying various horns. I had even bought one and it didn't work out, and he took it back, no problem. The thing is that he has treated me, a very rank amateur, with a tremendous amount of patience, kindness and generosity. It has been an unbelievably happy experience.
