H. Klosé Complete Method for all Saxophones

Has anyone every heard of this Book?

The title in spanish is "H. Klosé Método Completo Para todos los Saxofones"
In English "H. Klosé Complete Method for all Saxophones"

It's really really good and has very challenging exercises.

It was recommended to me by a teacher. I made a copy of it but I would like to have an original.

Any ideas where to get one?

I think the actual title of the book in English is
25 Daily Exercises for Saxophone

I'd have to double check, but I'm relatively sure that the book was also written for clarinet. It may worth while to check out that book as well. Could be different than the saxophone version.
No. It's way more than just 25 exercises. There are 167 pages. Surely an exercise can't be that long.

Yes, this Klose method book is excellent. My cuban saxophone teacher gave it to me to use when I first started learning the Alto. I have also recently just bought 'Universal Method for the Saxophone' by Paul De Ville. It has excerts from Klose and others. I bought it via Amazon for about £18.

Both the books have wonderful exercises for mechanism & articulation, as well as scale exercise. In fact, all the lessons I have had so far are based on these two books.

Klosé wrote several methods, the clarinet method is at least one inch thick piece of book (that should be the one costing 75 bucks) and the 25 daily excersises for saxophone is about less than a third or the clarinet book.

General rule of thumb - if it is a French publication, expect it to be over priced. In the interview by Desmond of Bird, they discuss the Klose and Desmond makes reference to a Klose quote he heard Bird playing. Same quote that Peter King uses on the Charlie Watts Bird with Strings cd. Title escapes me right now.

I also like the scales and arpeggios books by Marcel Mule.

Here:

The old 195 page clarinet method can be downlaoded for free. Just go down to the M's and click

Méthode complète de clarinette (Klosé, Hyacinthe Eléonore)

It is an ancient copy, but I guess the studies have not been revised much, if at all.

Re: H. Klosé Complete Method for all Saxophones

I found the 25 daily exercises on a site that has music method uploads. I downloaded the 25 "Klose'" exercises for free. There are a couple sites, one in particular, that directs you to Facebook and requires you to join the site in order to get the "free" Klose' stuff. Eventually a page pops up saying it costs to join to get the "free" stuff. Great deal there! See ya later pal. I kept searching for the truly free version and found it. Unfortunately I didn't keep the site in my bookmarks. I'll do another search and post it, if anybody's interested.

Oops! Found it. http://www.scribd.com/doc/8332479/Hklose-25. I just clicked on the download button and got all 25 exercises and the red color title page. One problem with printing is that the cover page is page number 1. So if you don't want it you start the print at page 2. I've been printing a couple pages at a time - up to page 12 so far.
