I have not tried them myself, but I have seen some good reports of these so maybe consistency is not their main point. I'll look out for some to try out and post a review when I get time.

In my experience consistency is not the main point of any brand of reed.

 

Is it wrong that I'm getting rather sceptical of Chinese products?!

I'd expect as many playing reeds in a million as the number of dents on my car made by a flying Albatross!!

 

The ones I have seem appropriately named. But you can expect them to get better. The Chinese are like that.

 

I would like to try them out but one thing that worries me is the amount of pesticides etc with which theses reeds might be contaminated. But perhaps that is a general aspect of cane reeds, regardless of where they come from.

 

Gonzalez and Zonda reeds are claimed to be pesticide, herbicide, and chemical free. They do, however, use worm humus and goat manure.
