I acquired a Super Dynaction Tenor which had electrical tape for the neck cork and went and checked my neck cork supply and realized I didn't have enough.. Was Jonesing to play this so went on Amazon and ordered more cork and saw these, which came overnight. Two minutes of effort today and I got my fix.. It even went over some glue residue.

They are tapered and fit easily and have some groovy colors to boot and you get 5 for $9.99. Will cork it properly when I have time.. Anyone else try these?

My only thought is that it's tapered instead of cylindrical, which could be an issue. Whenever replacing and shaping a neck cork comes up, someone always chimes in with something like, "try to maintain a cylindrical shape instead of a taper." I can't imagine these would be good for sanding.

I’m guessing the taper should be reversed ? The larger end to the end of the neck. The smaller end towards the bend. This could make it evenly cylindrical ?

It looks like a better idea than the electrical tape for a temporary fix, at least, until you get your neck recorked. Not sure how it holds up for the long term. It’s the airtight seal that counts and unlike cork, won’t absorb moisture; curious if that characteristic is an issue.

Clever thinking! Natural cork seems to be the material of choice for necks despite advances in materials science for synthetic materials.

I've been thinking about recorking my neck, and thought about silicone sheet as an option. Also thought about cutting up some silicone tubing I have laying around. But here's what's been working for my YTS-62 neck.

I got my inspiration from the old Scimonetti Corkless Neck and the Warburton Modular Neck. When my cork went out several years ago I didn't have cork on hand, but I had plenty of silicone o-rings. I've only been able to make this work on my YTS-62. Tried it on my YAS-875EX and my Rampone tenor, but couldn't find the right size o-rings. It's worked perfectly for the last several years, but I keep thinking I should put a proper cork on it. Maybe I'll try these sleeves first.

How do you adhere these to the neck (or don't you)?

Also, I find it hard to believe that these (in the same size) will work for tenor through soprano as stated. Are they really that flexible?
The one I put on the SDA fits super tight and does not move. I have swapped numerous mouthpieces. I guess you could glue it down.

Though I've never tried it, I can't imagine sanding silicone tubing would work very well. I could be wrong, and the pack comes with four sleeves, so maybe I'll sacrifice one to the cause.

So, I tried something today. I have a bari piece with a huge bore, larger than any of my other pieces. It wiggles around if I don't use teflon tape. And since the cork is just right for my Rascher-type mouthpieces which need to go really far on to be in tune, I can't just get a thicker cork, so I slid one of these sleeves over my existing bari cork. It was just a touch too thick, but there's promise there. I think I'd prefer to use a sleeve instead of teflon tape, so I'll keep working on it.

Ok my package arrived.
Why are the different colors? Don’t know. By feel they all appear to be the exact same material.
Fit, Can’t check that right now. I don’t have a corkless neck or one in bad shape.
They are definitely tapered. Measured showing about .030 0,76mm difference in ID from end to end.
Wall thickness +/- @ .0475
lenght is 1-1/2” or 38.1mm.
