Broken mouthpiece from fall, can it be fixed?

I dropped my mouthpiece and broke the tip as shown.
Can this be glued together and if so what glue should I use.
Will 2 part 30min. epoxy do?

it can be fixed by a refacer who in this case will not attempt, in all probability, to glue back the pieces but will probably make some resin graft which well be manually finished.

The thing is that this will come at a considerable price while the value of such piece is limited and probably you will be better off just buying a new mouthpiece.

You can try to do this yourself the chances that you are getting it right by simple glueing are, in my opinion, very few.

Since the tip part of your mouthpiece is always in direct contact with your mouth I would be very careful using epoxy or other types of glue (because of safety/health reasons).

I routinely repair these. Most of the time the chip is lost so the missing piece can be reconstructed using JB Weld.

The problem with just gluing the piece back on is that it may not go back on at the same exact angle. Then the facing will be crooked at the tip which can cause response issues and squeaks. A refacer would make sure it is correct. Usually I go over the entire facing and correct issues that it had before the drop too.

Well, having not much to lose, it's broken anyway, I went ahead and stuck it together with some bSi SLOW-CURE™ 30 min epoxy I had laying about that I use on my remote control planes. The glue will be fully cured in 24 hours, so I'll let you know of the outcome tomorrow.

Thanks for the response Mojo, I saw your post after gluing the thing together. I put the broken part as flash with the main mouthpiece as I could see and I intend to clean up the facing a little after it sticks together. What epoxy is it that you used in the pictures? I hope the one I used will hold.
