How do these later 6Ms play? No RTH, but still has the naked lady. I won the above a few days ago and am anxiously waiting for it to arrive now! My current alto's a YAS-32 in silver-plate, plays well but sounds rather bland - i'm hoping the 6M will add some complexity to my tone. Do you think it's an upgrade from my yamaha or are late 6Ms not professional horns/too inconsistent to make a general evaluation?

The waiting after winning an eBay item is the toughest. I think you'll find the wait worth it. I haven't played a Yam 32 and haven't read about anyone who has, but 6M's have an excellent overall reputation for tone and keywork response. I had a 6M for a short time when my search for my holy grail of saxes was at its peak, and it was one of the better ones I tried, especially for the rich and resonant tone. But, as always, whether the sound and feel of a sax is good is so subjective that only you will be able to compare its performance to your personal needs and make that judgement.
