Just bought this very attaching Otto Link ''Tone Edge'' 7* alto mouthpiece.
Ebonite used here looks totally different from the material they use today.
Weight is 24 grams.
Any idea about the date of production of this one ?
Could you also develop a little bit about the type of material Otto Link used through time ?
I am attaching five pictures. If you need more pictures and more measurements please ask.
Thank you !

It looks like a modern Tone Edge produced after 1980, probably 1980's or 1990's (due to the discolored Hard Rubber).

Not sure, but I don't think the composition of the HR changed a lot in time. The older mouthpieces can get a brown tint due to exposure to sun-light.

You can find more information on the site of Theo Wanne:

Right.

I have a very brand new Otto Link Soprano mpc here as well dating 2025 and the material looks pretty much ''plastic'' in comparison, it looks ''plastic''...but sounds good...

I do understand that the Alto piece shows discoloration, it sounds great with my PIERRET !

OTTO LINK rocks all the way 😊

Thanks.
