Hey everyone, decided to compile a list of mouthpiece refacers here:

do let me know if I missed out anyone and I can definitely update the list, thank you!

Interesting.
What are the criteria to make it on that list? I am guessing that you didn't try them all yourself.
And a small suggestion:
It would be handy to mention where they are located. At least the country, and perhaps even the city would be my suggestion.
You have included the country for some of them, but didn't mention it for others (like Philtone, who is located in France) ....

I would suggest to take the word best out and just call it list. And sad to say that due to some issues not related to skill but business dealings and possibly forum issues, some will not be added to the list.

I think we can agree that Theo is up there when it come's to refacing. He doesn't do it anymore correct? But he has compiled a list but probably not updated.

Thanks for adding Max to the list.

Thanks guys for the positive comments. Will make adjustments to some of the listings and add those that I missed out.

With regards to using the word ‘Best’, it’s used the same way as one would when they list who are some of the best saxophonists. It’s ultimately purely subjective.

I’ve also added a disclaimer on the article that these are not meant to be recommendations, but just a collection of data of what I’ve read on this forum and the wider internet.

I had to make a difficult decision not to include any of my personal judgement into this list, and just include as many people as I could find. We all have our negative traits don’t we. As much as someone may have a bad attitude or don’t return your mouthpiece, others have also got their holy grail pieces from the same guy. So my aim was to lay it out there and everyone can make their own call.

please do let me know if there is anyone else I have missed!

It still seems irresponsible to me to include people with a track record of taking people's money and not delivering the work paid for or refunding the payment and returning the mouthpiece. As an extreme example, if Dave Guardala had done refacing before producing his own mouthpieces and later turning to fraud, should he be included on the list? Making note of a track record of poor business practices (or outright scamming) seems very different from judging how good someone's work is.

I'm glad to see Greg Weir on the list. I have a few of his pieces. I recently sold my MK VI Bari to a working pro.
He brought his own pieces to try the Bari including an SYOS. I let him try my GW "link" and he sounded much better,
my wife (and a no holds barred critic) agreed. I included the piece in the sale. I bought the piece a while ago, and went back to look at my conversations on SOTW and found that I paid $60.00 for this piece, so I am a fan of his well made reasonably priced pieces.

If not added already, add:

The Great Bob Carpenter
Bob’s Page | WWS

Adam Niewood
Mouthpieces - Niewood

Brian Powell & Erik Greiffenhagen
Mouthpiece Guys

I'm actually floored that Brian and Erik were omitted from this thread, considering what giants they are in the mouthpiece refacing world.

EDIT: I just saw the OP's site is no longer active. Oh well, maybe this info can help someone.

Tommaso Troncon at Roberto's in NYC does a great job. He should be added to the list as well. He's also a pleasure to work with on a personal level.
