I’m 35 years old. I played the piano and violin until I was about 18 or 19, and had become quite good at both. I definitely have some musical ability. But for the last 15 years or so, I have completely forgotten to sight-read music. I haven’t played either instrument since I was in my early 20’s.
I love the saxophone. It’s an instrument I’ve always appreciated.
In terms of difficulty in learning to play competently, how hard of an instrument is it to learn to play? I have never picked one up in my life.
For example, it is very hard to learn to play the violin and not have it sound like crap. How does the saxophone compare?
