Just noticed

if you go to www.giveawayoftheday.com they are offering an MP3 software that does a great job in slowing tunes down while keeping the pitch constant - more flexible than quicktime.

its free until midnight if anyone is interested.

Take care

I've been using Best Practice for a while. It's free. Works great on CDs, but I'd like to find something that will work on I Tunes files. :?

Audacity!

It works on almost all sound files, and you can change pitch (with or without distorting the sound), slow down, speed up, and apply many other effects to the track. I use it for practicing particular parts of recordings before taking them at the original tempi. You can also save the track as an .ogg, .wav, or mp3 file for use on iTunes or whatever.

And yes, it's free. :D

Amazing Slowdowner.
Not free but certainly affordable at 50 bucks. Developed by a guitar player from Sweden. It is evident that it was developed by a musician. Available both for PC and Mac. The Mac-version for some reason looks cooler.
I have used it for many years and recommend it strongly. :)
