Sounds like they are moving the show to the great recording studio “Power Station at BerkleeNYC” beginning on December 1st.

So that was great news.

great players, but they grossly discriminated against older players, though this changed slightly once I made an issue of it online. But I should not have had to. Yes, they started booking older ones, but it was still hugely out of proportion. It's called Age Discrimination.

 

You were responsible for the Masterʻs Legacy Series that Emmet started in 2017, that has five volumes that feature masters Jimmy Cobb, Ron Carter, George Coleman, Benny Golson, Tootie Heath, and Houston Person?

Accusing Emmet (“they”???) of “age discrimination” is a bit much imho. No good deed goes unpunished 🤨🤷‍♂️

You can make a strong case that Emmet’s show helped introduce many jazz fans to a wide range of young talent that otherwise had very limited exposure…

Would you accuse Art Blakey of actively practicing “age discrimination” over those many decades? How about Maynard Ferguson? That list goes on…

And come to think of it, drummer Joe Farnsworth, while not necessarily a tribal elder, is no spring chicken (57), & he played on a bunch of those episodes.
