what's are the beast altissimo fingerings you are using with Yamaha tenor saxes YTS-32 or YTS-62 or YTS-25 or etc etc ect?

I'm getting the first ones until G with those:

F =T+ high f key + C + side Bb
F# = T + high f key + C + side Bb + f#
G = T + B + side Bb + f#
G# = ???
A = ???
Bb = ???
B = ???
C = ???
C# = ???
D= ???
....

What's are yours???:)

I haven't figured out a good G# or G for my 82Z yet, but as far as the others..

A - LH 2,3 RH 1,2,3 Eb
Bb - same with added D palm key
B - Palm D, LH 3, side C, Eb
C - 1-3 1-3 Eb
C# - finger low Bb or front F or all palm keys, LH 3 and side C
D - Front F key or all palm keys, LH 3 and side E

After you "get" the altissimo most any reasonable fingering should work, its more a matter of you and what works for your airstream and intonation tendencies.

my -61 tenor basically like these:

G - high f# + LH1
G# - LH 1, 3 + side C
A - LH 2, 3
Bb - LH 3
B - LH 3 + Palm D
C - LH 1, 3 + RH 1, 3 OR palm D + palm Eb
C# - All Palm Keys
D - Front F
E - LH 1, 3 + RH 1, 3

Think I should try some of the ones being mentioned here... Thanks!

I've always found that if it works on a selmer, it'll work on a Yamaha.

YMMV

My Selmer fingerings did not work so well on the YTS-62 & 82Z… especially high G and Ab. Somebody here (sorry i forgot your name) sent me a special altissimo fingering chart for Yamaha tenors. It's a pdf file. If anyone wants a copy, i'll be happy to send it to you. Just send me a PM with your email address.

ps, these were developed for the YTS-62, but they work nicely on the 82z as well.

yesss great!
soybean, thanks a lot for the pdf: all the fingerings are perfect for me & my link NY 7# & my lovely YTS-32!!!
I wasn't hitting the altissimo reg only becouse I was using old reeds... I'm a fully autodidact boy and I can do great mistakes on simple things as reeds confusion...:D

Hey,

Soybean, thank you also, you sent me the chart a few months ago and it was a big help to me, though in fact, I found I had to make some adjustments to make it work on my YTS-32. Not big ones, but I figured they were worth documenting for anyone else who might find them useful. I've posted a PDF of my variations (as well as your original PDF, which I assume you don't mind my sharing?) on my blog:

http://www.gordsellar.com/2013/07/15/altissimo-yamaha-yts-32/

The original was a big help, and my own chart is a work in progress. I should say, I'm playing on a YTS-32 and a Barone Jazz 7* mouthpiece. (Was on a Link STM 6* at which point all I could get to speak was the G at the bottom of the altissimo, but on the Barone all the notes in the chart linked are coming through clear and mostly very strong...)

Thanks for both charts. I've been struggling with altissimo on my Jupiter tenor for 1 yr, and just made a quantum improvement by switching to a Fibracell reed ! and now I've made another big jump with the charts as the G - OK F / high F# , A - OK C G / side C , Bb - OK B / side C, B - OK B palm D / side C are playing like regular full toned notes .... (I hope it lasts)... as suggested by the charts (maybe not exactly, but adding the high F# and side C I got from the charts) ..
