I'm sorry to say , I'm not a member of the King owners club, although, my first clarinet was a brass king .It was the best playing metal clarinet I have yet tried.Anyway, I'm interested in the difference in sound between the Zephyr ,Zephyr Special and Supper 20 . I know they changed the neck on the Super 20, that's right,I wasn't having sax for dinner.

Those differences probably depend more on the vintage of the particular horns than on the models. In other words, a Super 20 and a Zephyr, both from the 50s, are probably more similar than say...two Super 20s, where one is from the 50s and the other from the 70s.

The "good" Super 20s and Zephyrs have a lot of edge and/or "cut" whereas the best S20s have a "ring" and a resonance that I don't hear in Zephyrs. just sayin'...
