Indeed as Russlan showed, the ridge on the mouthpiece makes it very recognizable.

I have had a couple , they are very well made but that ridge ( there's special groove on the ligature) makes finding a good ligature rather difficult.

Rovner ligatures of the correct size work well on the Yamaha mouthpieces, if used properly with the screw on top. Problem is, who wants to spend over $25 for a lig just to use a mouthpiece that's not worth over 10 bucks?
