Thanks, this is a very good video. Love the sound he gets from the Link! Full and warm body, with this silky-airy kind of noise on top. Made me think of Sonny Rollins immediately. I would recommend watching the whole show and then skip back to 2:33.
(On the other hand, when I played tenor some time ago, I used a metal Vandoren V16 T75... loved it, but well, I'm an Alto player. :alien:)

Your First (Proper) Tenor Jazz Mouthpiece - Interesting comment at 13:30.

"All the mouthpiece that I've played here today are around about a 7* tip opening . . . the most comfortable for most players out there."

Nice video. Explains the differences for some of the more commonly seen Tenor mouthpieces nicely.

Only question I have is the type of Tenor that Mike is playing. Anyone know?

Beautiful Sax! I think the comparison was excellent...relative tone and everything else. Those mouthpieces sound a lot different on my Mark VII, though. I was just curious.

.....the D’Addario Select Jazz can be a free-blowing monster. Love the sound.....though the pianissimo on it is a bit hard to control. Fortissimo is no problem.
