Undaunted by having been roasted for asking about Yellowbird a few years ago (a song I can play quite nicely now BTW) here goes...


What's your favourite non-jazz non-sax song to play on your horn?

Lately I've been playing Loch Lomand. It's a beautiful melody and I've been doing long tones by playing it in all keys.

Warning: if folks don't participate in this fun and interesting thread, I WILL post a recording of a medley of me playing Yellowbird, Snowbird, and Bird on a Wire...and you will be sorry!

I think that may be one reason I stopped playing electric guitar in a bar band back in the '70s.

I've always enjoyed playing "Smooth Operator". Nice sax lines and a solo too!
