great clip!
i've heard more than a little criticism leveled at the yellowjackets over the past 20 years, some of it from folks whose knowledge far surpasses mine. or maybe it's an insistence on purism that surpasses mine. or some from column a, and some from column b.
regardless, i like that band a whole lot, and have for almost their entire run to date.
marc russo did his thing well, but i find them a more compelling band since bob mintzer joined in the early 90s. he's just got a much bigger bag of tricks to bring to the party as a composer, arranger, and player. love jimmy haslip's unorthodoxy, too.
