Hi SOTW,

Just seeing if I can get anymore information on my sax. It's a YAS62II (Stamped YAS62, serial number, made in Japan) the serial number starts with A263xxx. I understand that it can be difficult so work out the year it was made but if anyone has any thoughts?
I have also not read about others that start with 'A' in front of the serial number. I am in Australia so perhaps for that reason?

Any thoughts would be appreciated (•‿•)

I contacted Yamaha through their website with my serial# and all they would say is what year it was made. Have no idea what the A signifies. My YTS-82Z serial number starts with the letter F and it was made in 2019.

I have never seen saxophones YAS-62 with the prefix A, but I know that they produced saxophones with the prefix C until 2010.

Try emailing your serial number to [email protected]. I did and he responded within about a week with details about manufacture date, place, etc.

I'll try e-mailing that address to get some more info about my YAS-62. My serial number doesn't start with any letters though.

I just received a reply from Jonathan Goldman in regards to my 'Purple Label' 52. These early Yamaha's pre-date the current database. He wasn't able to help but he did reply and was very professional.
