Yanagisawa neck problem

882 Views 5 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  NatureColor
So, I have two necks for my A992 - the bronze one and a gold plated one. Both fit into the body as they should. The bronze one plays very well, but the gold one...doesn't play properly. I'm not sure why, because at one point it did.

It plays everything above G with the octave key, but anything below is either very stuffy or just won't play at all. It sounds as if it has something to do with the octave mechanism, but I don't know. When I hold down the top octave key pad the low notes play fine. My local tech is not the greatest, so any self-help suggestions are appreciated.

bend the octave key slightly downward so the pad will seal correctly. Don't pull too hard, little by little.
Duh. Common sense. It works...thank you.

Actually, I'm spending all of my spare money on another mouthpiece. No dice! I don't even have a PayPal account...
lol, glad it works for you!
