Hi all, so on the back on the B992 case (the old style Yanagisawa case) there are two riveted straps on the bottom side of the case... anyone know what these are for?

I think they're just to keep the actual case elevated, off the floor.

Yes, per above. These straps provide some minimal protection on the bottom of the case for the soft, padded vinyl exterior.
They are non-existent on the Tenor, Alto and Soprano Cases.
