My wife has fallen in love with the 992 Pink Gold model! I am in trouble
We saw one at dAwkes the other day in their sax room and it's on offer:

At £3500, it's still expensive for a Sax. I could buy another Selmer MkV1 AND have change!

I did play it and thought it had a real rich and creamy tone, yet it was bright and cutting in the higher range. Tuning is good too (as is every yani).
The 992 (that's the bronze model) is roughly £2800. Is this really worth the extra? Apparently the book price is £5500 and as they are a limited edition, it may be.

Has anyone played one?

Never played one....did not even know about it, but IT IS A BEAUT.

But for $9,000, like you said, you could buy 2 regular finish saxes.

I played one of these last year when they were first introduced. Bright sounding with near perfect intonation. The finish looks like bright copper. Great horn for somebody who has money to spare. B:cool:
