I have a customer who wants to trade a Yamaha custom tenor on a flute. I haven't seen it yet but I was trying to figure a value so I can sell it off. He claims it was $2,600 new and it has only been played a few times. Is it worth $2,000?

I see a lot of Custom Z tenors in mint condition in lacquer going for about $2000; silver or unlacquered seem to go for $100-150 more.

The 875s seem to get about $100-150 more than the Zs as well.

It is said "put your money where your mouth is" so THIS is what a brand new silver alto Custom Z is worth these days in non-retail situations. Again, the silver gets ~$150 premium, so best case is $2200 delivered price for a lacquer Custom Z in the open market.
