Hopefully this is the right section to post this question....; I have a Yamaha Custom 862 Unlacqured tenor sax that I bought from Pamala Williams. I was told that this was a predecessor to the 82Z series horns and that they were given to artists that endorsed Yamaha horns. Ill post pictures tomorrow.. Just wanted to validate the authenticity of the horn... It is unlacqured with gold plated keys.. Please email me at [email protected] for pictures

Yo yo yo... This was in the Mouthpieces For Sale forum. Moved it here. Once you get the info you need, and if you are interested in selling it, you can post in the Saxophones For Sale forum. In that post, remember to post the sale price and the location it will be shipped from.

G'day,
Steve

It appears to be a legitimate Yamaha product though very rare as you say. The high F# key has been removed and the tone hole plugged based upon the pictures. Did the F# keywork come with the horn in the event you want to reinstall it?

Makes you wonder if the concept for the 82Z was combining the 62 with the 875 Custom.
