wow! What does it take to just order a box or two of reeds and get them delivered in a timely manner? 4 weeks out, promises basically broken and still no satisfaction...

Can someone suggest an online resource for clarinet reeeds *in stock*?

I ordered a 2 1/2 and a 3 Fibracell from Musicians Friend (WWBW affiliate), and the 3 is still back-ordered! It's for Tenor, and it's a good thing I don't need it right away, but it is annoying!

taylorfusion,

I work at WWBW. I'm sorry for the delays with your order. Could you email me your order number? I'll gladly look into this and see what I can do to help. [email protected] is the email address.

Sincerely,

I've had problems since they switched their basic shipping to UPS Mail Innovations. That's where it ships UPS and then UPS hands it off to the US Postal Service. I don't know why, but sometimes it arrives in a timely manner, just as if there were shipping USPS Priority or UPS Ground. But sometimes it takes forever.

I remember placing an order where I had ordered reeds and some cork grease as well. Even though I'd paid for 2nd day shipping, the cork grease shipped separately and shipped UPSMI. It took a month. Not a big deal because it's just cork grease and was annoying.

Later, when I ordered reeds, I called them after 2 weeks and no delivery. They re-shipped the order. Two weeks later, still nothing. No first shipment, no second shipment. I called back and whatever rep I talked to said I needed to wait 3 weeks before they could count the shipment as lost. So I call back a week later and then they say I need to wait a month from the ship date (so another week and 6 weeks after the initial order). They acknowledge that UPSMI is awful and the rep tells me that when it enters the USPS system, it gets classified as 4th class mail which is why it may take awhile. Through some prodding, they go ahead and re-ship the order. THAT one actually arrives and in 3-5 days like normal.

Chris, take note. THIS is why I've largely stopped shopping at WWBW. I can't count on the package actually arriving. I'd happily bypass the free shipping and just pay $5 if I know you're going to ship it UPS Ground or USPS Priority. I've been shopping online at Music and Arts, another Guitar Center owned company I believe, and pay sales tax I don't have to bother with using WWBW because they don't bother with the UPSMI crap. If WWBW ever ditches UPSMI, let me know. I'd gladly give you all of my business again.

Agent27,
I work for WWBW as well. Thank you for sharing this feedback! I'm surprised to hear this. Any UPSMI shipment shouldn't take longer than 5-8 business days to arrive anywhere in the lower 48 states. Is there any information you could email regarding your orders or account with us to [email protected]? I want to get as many specifics as I can to look into this. Any item under 1 pound is going to ship UPSMI. However, in the meantime if you have a collective order that weighs more than a single pound I would be happy to upgrade your order to expedited UPS ground delivery for free. I hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks,
Skaught

I have been fortunate enough to receive the orders I've placed within the 5-8 day window...usually 7-8, and from Michigan to Maine that is really slow (before UPSMI, the window was ALWAYS 3-5 days). The thing that bothers me is that you get a tracking number that is useless until the USPS receives the package and scans it into the system. I like to know where my shipments are because my local post office is really bad about getting items out in a timely fashion. It usually isn't until the third or fourth business day that the tracking info is valid.

Kudos to the two posters who claimed to be working at WWBW, for standing up and saying something. I've had nothing but good service from WW&BW, both for instruments and accessories. I'm sorry to read that some have not had as good of service as I've experienced. DAVE
