A friend of mine and well-known saxophonist, Jay Easton, has written a new book called 'Writing For Saxophones, a guide to the tonal palette of the saxophone family for Composers, Arrangers and Performers'.

In addition to writing a rich history of the saxophone, complete with footnotes, there are disussions of arranging for saxophones complete with a CD of over 90 tracks covering samples of all known saxophones.

My copy arrived yesterday and I'm already halfway throught it as it is a very interesting and educational read.

Cheers.
