To be honest, I had to sell it. But I think it found a very nice collector in England. He was very happy to get it.

Yes, it was a very nice horn.
Hi Mo,

That's me !

The horn is doing fine and it is very nice indeed. It's one of several that is going to be put in a display case next year when we have a music room built.

I find the Vito pretty close in sound to my Conn straight neck C melody and play them with a Morgan C melody mouthpiece that works really well. The Vito has better ergonomics, but otherwise I would be happy with either horn in terms of sound and intonation.

If anyone would like to try it out, then it's in Surrey, UK.

All the best

Rhys

Rhys - put the coffee on....

Quite annoying, because before 2001 I was based for quite a while in Crowthorne and Wokingham - just the other side of Camberley - so quite close.

But you never know, I may venture out of the depths of Dorset one day, it's not unknown...:)

Wow!
It really is a small world. I have two brothers back home. The youngest one lived in Camberley for a while then took off to York, now both brothers are living about two miles from Aldershot in Farnborough.
If I can afford to come home any time soon I will have to look you up and have a pint and say hi.

I used to live and work in South Dorset 20 odd years ago and still head that way from time to time. We also travel through North Dorset on the way to the wild West Country a few times a year. I'd be happy to bung the Vito in the car if we are passing anywhere close to you.

All the best

Rhys

PS A pint sounds good too !

Strange - I just visited Falmouth last weekend for the first time ever. A cousin who moved to St Agnes a few years ago had a big bash in the St Michael's Hotel, and about 100 family and friends descended on the hotel - WHAT a weekend! Lovely place, Falmouth. The only bad thing was the ferry over to St Mawes - little boat on very choppy sea, which for a land-lubber like me was about as much fun as accompanying my kids on the heavy duty rides at Thorpe Park Adventure park.............
