Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum. I'm a college student, primarily a Bari player, and I'd like to know a little bit about my mouthpiece. I know it's some sort of Gale piece, but I can't find much about it. All of the pictures I find are not of this piece. Any information would be greatly appreciated. :)

From looking at the pictures you have given it seems more like a model A which was made by MC Gregory. Model A were MC Gregory's first mouthpiece and are suppose to play fantastically well. Congrats! Hopefully you can get that Mulligan Sound out of it (although Mulligan played a Gale Hollywood, I'm sure from the same company they are not that far off). Keep working at your sound on it and good luck.

That's a pretty rare mouthpiece. Gregory/Gale Baritone mouthpieces don't show up that often. I would have to agree with baritonesaxophone about it being a Model A Gregory. Although they are typically pretty closed mouthpieces, they play pretty well. I used to own a Gregory Bari piece, and I always regret that I let it go.

Comparing this to my Gale Hollywood, it looks the same. Unlike the Gregory Model A, the Hollywood has an aluminum ring rather than brass. I've seen a Model A tenor
with no ring, but never one (regardless of which horn) with an aluminum one. Unlike a Hollywood Master, the ring does not extend to the bottom of the mouthpiece. Also, all the Masters that I've seen have brass rings. Finally, a Model A bari mouthpiece would be really rare. There was a Model B a while back on ebay, but I've never seen any mention of a Model A bari. Overall, Gale/Gregory bari mouthpieces are not very common and the Gale Hollywood is famous, of course, as the Mulligan mouthpiece. They play really well. I like mine, because it tunes more easily than any other I've encountered on my King Margaux Low Bflat bari.
