i own a very fine albert system conn and can play it too. i dont buy into they give a better new Orleans sound. what you might gain in sound you lose facility in its awkward fingerings. i read once where woody paid buffet to build him an albert system clarinet. neworleans and dixieland playing are more about additude and soft reeds and wide tipped mpcs than the clarinet itself

no recital for me either but did make all district band. i did well till the teenage hormones kicked in and i got more interested in the hot girl clarinet players that sat next to me than playing
