:space1:Hi guys.

I am about to buy a new Saxophone and found very good offers and cheap shipment in the http://www.woodwindandbrass.co.uk/ site

I am a bit put off by the layout of the site. Unlike them, many other online retailers include a declaration like the following:

Why Buy from Dawkes Music?
» Professional Set-up

All instruments go through stringent quality control and final set-up procedures before sale. This ensures the perfect playing action from your new instrument and we also compliment the outfit with a selection of necessary accessories.
In contrast, http://www.woodwindandbrass.co.uk/ looks commercial. They don't make a similar declaration.

Does anyone have any experiences or connections with http://www.woodwindandbrass.co.uk/ to give me some feedback? Are the offers too good to be true? Is there a trade off between their prices and quality?

Thanks in advance.

:treble:Thanasis.

Forgive me, because I do not have an answer. But I do have a question, which may or may not be appropriate to the topic:

How much would you be spending if you buy this new horn from them ?

I don't understand the problem. I know the shop, I have bought a Bauhaus Walstein curved soprano from them (they are the importers, owners of the brand and main distributor of these instruments) which was sold and delivered to me in perfect working order as indeed it should. I was happy.
The declaration of intents by Dawkes is nice but its presence or absence says nothing at all about the end result or indeed about your statutory guarantees which are in place anyway whether explicitly stated or not.

Anyway, you might have missed their terms and conditions

read them here at your leisure

I certainly have experience as I bought a soprano and a baritone from them. They were both set up beautifully. I also buy my reeds and ligatures there. It's mail order, but they are happy to let you visit by appointment which I've done a couple of times. I've got to know them quite well over the years and can recommend the service as both friendly and professional.
