So I could read a lot about Oscar Adler Saxophones here on SOTW but did not hear anything about how they Sound.

Maybe like other german Saxophones, like Keilwerth (which sound more like US Horns then French Saxes.)

So did anybody ever played a Adler alto or soprano in good playing condition?

I have briefly played one with alternative keys a long time ago.

I remember vaguely that it was a nice playing horn but it is a very long time ago.

I have refurbed several, both Altos and Tenors. Nice horns. Definitely that big, German tone...built hecka well too. The keywork was traditional, but it wasn't clunky or unresponsive.

Basically just a nice, vintage sax which is lost on most people's radar.

would you say Adlers are close to Conns in terms of Sound and built quality, or not alike.
