I have recently purchased a Vandoren Optimum LC08P ligature.

I have a Vandoren V16 T6 HB mouthpiece.

It seems to me the ligature is a tight fit on this mouthpiece, once the reed (RJS) is in place, it only needs a small turn before becoming tight. Is that normal?

I'm 99% sure I've got the right ligature, the other listed one appears to be for the metal version.

Could someone confirm this is the correct ligature for the V16 HB.

Many thanks.

Andy.

Thanks for the reply. Was your lig a leather one though? Mine is metal so I don't see it loosening really.

Hmm, I have a T6 and a T8 and the Optimum lig and mine fits quite well on both pieces. Maybe it would be worth it to check on some other V16' s at a local store and see if yours is unusually large or something.

Thanks for the replies, very helpful! I've double checked with the shop and they say it is definitely the right lig, just seems a bit tight to me, especially with the default plate on it, with the other two plates there's a bit more room. I've a V16 T7 arriving soon so will compare the lig with this mouthpiece to see if it is the same or not. I'm hoping it does stretch a bit :)

Many thanks!
