I am going to double on flute and would like to have a decent flute for long term use, how about Powell-Sonare PS708, Powell-Sonare SF77BGF & Gemeinhardt KGM Standard, which one is better? Any other suggestions in similar price level and quality?

Thanks a lot.

A lot of people like the Prima Sankyos. Best thing is to try them and find which one suits you.

Also consider Muramatsu EX. And Yamaha - the cheapest series with the pro head. 600?
Forget Gemeinhardt.

But do not choose a professional flute such as these until you are accomplished enough to make a valid personal choice. For flutes you cannot simply choose on specs and price.

A doubler with a good embouchure will make fantastic sounds from a student Yamaha. Think of it as a Corolla. And you have decided to choose between an Merc and an Audi - to do the shopping?
Keep in touch with reality!

Save some of the surplus money for a decent adjustment and lessons from an accomplished flute teacher/player; then give that sukrplus money burning a hole in your wallet to a heap of enthusiastiec kids who cannot even afford the student Yamaha to even begin playing the flute. Or save it for when you are in a position to choose between those flash models.

Thanks for the comments.

Bought Powell-Sonare previous model, SF77, instead of current model SP708, because body was made in Germany by Schreiber-Keilwerth, not in Asia. It's really easy to play, sweet tone, good intonation and lots of power when you push it.
