So i'm in the market for a new bari MPC and i've narrowed it down between a C* and a C**. I don't know too much about how tip openings affect the sound or tone of the bari but I need some help. What are some stuff you like about the C* or C**?

Very minute difference. If you can't try before you buy, go by price and condition. A C* will be more common and you may pick one up on ebay for about $75. I got an S-90 for my bari for about that amount.

I would agree the difference is so minimal it's not possible for anyone to advise you beyond trying them out. The difference (IMO) could be less than the difference between two reeds of the same sort.

I have measured (and refaced) 6 Selmer C * Alto mpc´s for the past months, one of them had an "C-opening" two had an opening similar to a "C **".
What to do? On a baritone I would have chosen C**, D (or E). But testing and/or measure them before buying.
