I was curious what people opinions are on the Martin sopranos (sans the 80's when they were just a name engraved on Yanis) and which models they consider better than the other ones (assuming properly setup, etc).

i've a harmony martin handcraft stencil from the 1920/30's this is the second handcraft i've owned and i do rate them as vintage horns .When martin's were using Yanagisawa stencils you know you are getting a great horn never come across a bad Yani or a yani stencil

A late 20's Handcraft in silver plate! Gold plate is even rarer and far more desirable.

I have a L&H too and it is great BUT if it has the clown face on the side and the L shaped G# key, it was made by Courturier and not Martin even though they have the soldered tone holes.

I have a 1925 handcraft soprano silverplate in wonderful condition.could not ask for a finer instrument.i have had at least four sops previous to the martin.
