Just trying to figure which guardala I have. Started looking at other pieces as I want more core to my sound. The one on the right is my guardala compared to my buddies studio gold.

Mine has a rolled over baffle.
The blank that it was made from is a little shorter and fatter the my buddies studio.
Bite plate goes from side to side with no gold on the edges.

Has FL on bottom of shank.

Says STG 667 on side of shank, (studio traditional gold? or Studio Tenor gold?)

Says DG with a 7 through the D on the top of the shank.

Always wonder what it was as I got it off of ebay.

"Roll-over" baffles describe a small curved baffle near the tip rail. I would say yours has a rounded transition from the first ramp into the second ramp. Could be a custom job by DG or someone else. You also need to look inside at the throat shape under the reed table. If it has a smaller ring diameter than the shank bore, it is most likely a Studio. Otherwise, it could be one of several other designs or has been altered. The straight across bite plate instead of a pocket also makes this an earlier DG.

I have a bunch of photos on my site to help with Guardala identification. But I'm not sure yours will line up with any of them.

Not sure what the STG meant...but it looks like a pre-MB1 model...called the 'Traditional' model...
It could have been refaced...check out the baffle...whether it has Dave's diagonal handfile marks.
Take note that Dave often customised these early pieces for individual customers and so, each is unque in itself.
