For the mic, you should be able to change it (in Windows) by right-clicking the Volume button in your system tray, clicking "Adjust Audio Properties," clicking the Audio tab, and then changing the sound recording device to the one you want to use.
As for the light--as hakukani said, you'd want a light behind you (an overhead lamp, perhaps?) and a light that is shining toward you. Neither light should be in the camera's view, though.
