My 140K alto has a metal one. But I've seen other 140Ks on ebay that have the plastic. Mine could have been replaced before I got it.

Is there a source for a metal RH thumb rest beside the expensive ones? I would like to replace the plastic one on my T100 with a metal one.

The T100 probably came with the plastic anyway. I am not sure the Paris and US ones use the same mount. You also can find a Yanagisawa metal one.

My Ref has a metal one, personally I believe plastic ones feel better.

My 141,XXX tenor has a plastic one.

My 266XXX soprano has a metal one. The horn had 1 owner before me. I also bought this same player's 240XXX alto. It has a plastic hook. I've had both VIs since 1981. To my knowledge he never changed them, and neither did I.
