The mouthpiece on the left came with my Barone sax. It is different than the Vintage shown on Phils site. Is this the new version of the Vintage? Can somebody clarify this for me please.

It looks like the newer Vintage. He does have a new HR piece that I think is made from the same blank, but he has only been making them a very short time (like a month?). The vintage MP that came with my tenor had a V7* marking...My alto piece is marked NY5L. If it has a V in the marking, I'm sure it is safe to assume it is the Vintage.

Too me it doesnt look any different. Unless its a SoundMaster it can only be the Vintage.

Hey koumou, I think Mr. Perry is right. I think what you have is the newer Vintage. But the Vintage I got with the Super Classic didn't have Phil Barone and New York, NY stamped on the top in gold and is was more squarish. Not as square as the one pictured on his site though. The SoundMaster I got with the Vintage Tenor looks like yours. It also looks identical to the NY6M I got with my Vintage Alto last year,... just bigger. Kinda hard for me to tell any difference. I wonder, can you now choose between the Vintage and the SoundMaster, or has the whole Vintage thing been benched?

I got the mouthpiece 3 weeks ago. I asked Phil about it yesterday and he said it's one of the new SoundMasters.

Bingo - Thats it then. Its probably the same blank or a similar blank to the Vintage. the Vintage has not been shelved.
