what´s the difference between these mouthpieces: selmer short shank soloist E and selmer long shank soloist E?

I have both and played them for many years.

In my opinion, the short shank is a little brighter, more centre to the sound.

so, that makes the long shank darker, more spread.

but, even the long shank would not be as spread as a meyer/link type mouthpiece.
