Just a curiosity. Today I took delivery of the 95xxx SX90R tenor J.Max sold me. It has the SA80-style domed metal tone boosters and I'm curious if that's what these horns came with? I haven't even had the chance to play the horn yet, still have work deadlines to meet here, so maybe late tonight ..... <sigh>

Of course, any comments per "best tone booster" for this model would also be welcome.

To the best of my knowledge, Keilwerth saxophones were fitted with Italian kid leather pads from the Lago di Garda region for a long time. Whether or not the resonators make a difference, this has been debated for a long time here on the board.

The seamless domed resos I had put on my SX90R tenor when it was repadded with Roos, definitely added some edge to the tone. I didn't like it at first, but have grown accustomed to it now.
