Bought this horn on ebay and it was said to have been in the attic for 25 years. The pads look good considering and still soft, with small metal tone boosters {original ?} would like any help selecting proper thickness and tone booster advice

Sorta depends on your preferences, though, eh ?

Do you like a very hard/firm feeling pad under your fingers, or something with a little 'give' ?

Resos, doesn't much matter the style....the differences come more from the choice of having 'em or not.

Thanks. I'm really wondering, thick, thin, medium. I padded my plain Donet so long ago I just dont remember. I used plastic resonators, and really like the sound. Plastic vs metal? Both are Jean Cartier sigs

I’ve had a few Dolnets now.
Two Belair Tenors, a Royal Jazz Tenor, and a Royal Jazz Alto.
All of them had soft feel pads.
And I believe they were the thick pads also.
I don’t know if there is any particular reason for this or not, but they all played well and felt good on these pads.
