I have a 1954 Buesher Aristocrat and i have 2 different mouthpieces, a Beechler metal 7 and a Jody Jazz Classic 6. I love them both but im curious as to what everyone is using

Saxphil, you have the same era Aristo tenors that I do. And yeah, I like the Tenney Jazzmaster 7* on both of them. They also really roar on an RPC 120B (HUGE low end on that mpc).

The Bueschers are very mpc-friendly, just as Juan says.

Not to deflect the thread too much, but which of those 2 tenors do you prefer?

JL, it comes down to flavor of the day for me, much like yourself.
You have played one or the other for a certain period of time, as you have stated in threads.

I do find the '50's Aristo sweeter and rounder/fuller sounding, and the Series 1 laser like, as you also have stated in the past.

These Bueschers are mpc friendly, as most have said.

The large chambered Links and Tenney Jazzmaster do it for me.

1927 True Tone alto- mostly an M.C. Gregory 4A18 or a period Buescher.

1934 New Aristocrat alto- as above.

1934 New Aristocrat tenor- Lelandais Super Jazz VII, Brilhart HR 3*, original Buescher, vintage Berg Larsen HR 95 2 M

1951 Aristocrat tenor- as above.

It all depends on my mood at the moment because they all work on the Bueschers, although the Gregory is the easiest intonation on alto.
