From the pictures I've seen this doesn't appear to be a pre Selmer Aristocrat.
The bell keys are not like any of those I've see for the pre Selmer.
But the serial # should fit in here somewhere here:

It doesn't look like one of the good ones to me, but I don't know enough about Bueschers to be be sure.
Thanks

That is one of the last Aristocrats made just prior to the Selmer buyout. I have one very close to this serial number in need of a major overhaul. These are built much like the Aristocrats that came before them but they have needle springs (no Nortons), and conventional pads (no snaps). Keywork is nickel plated, and the engraving is just "Buescher" lengthwise up the bell and "Aristocrat" across the upper end of the bell.
They don't sell for as much as earlier Aristocrats.

I too have one of these S-33's. It also has the same , crappy pads.
I thought the pads may have been replaced. That's good to know !
These horns are KILLER! One of the best kept secrets of the vintage sax universe.
I have a '62 Bundy alto (and '62 tenor) that looks identical to that horn (except for the bell key pad guard and G# key), and I believe it was made for Selmer by Buescher. To my surprise, both these Bundy's are killer horns. Not that I'm an expert, but they both play sweet from top to bottom. I paid about $500 for the pair.
Except for some cosmetic touches, would these horns be the same otherwise?

Good to know. But too late - the thing sold for 316 with a new overhaul.
