Question - I just got a Runyon 8 Tenor Sax mouthpiece ( black ...hard rubber ?)

going through what ligatures I have, none look like they'll fit.
The Runyon doesn't have a tapered shape to it..

What do y'all recommend for a ligature ?

Thanks !

I have a JodyJazz Classic, which is the same mouthpiece with a slightly different facing. I use a Rovner Light, but unfortunately after years of use the size marking has worn off. According to the Rovner website, anything with a "1E" in the size designation should fit (my Light would be a L-1E). If you can get to a music store, try a couple to make sure, although most online retailers have a return policy, so you should be okay with that as well.

update - I got a rovner L13 ligature, and it's too small to fit onto this mouthpiece...unscrewing the ligature to open it to the widest opening, and just barely slides onto the mouthpiece, with no room to fit the reed....

I'll try the suggestion of going to a music store, but that's a 60 mile trek for me, but probably the best strategy at this point in the search..

I'm still curious as to exactly which model Runyon mouthpiece this might be....the only markings on it ar "Runyon" and the number "8"

It looks like my Custom to me, too. I use a Rovner light, but sadly there's nothing on it that indicates what size it is -- don't think there ever was, in fact none of my Rovners are marked as to size. Crazy.
