Hello everybody - someone is selling me this saxophone and I don't know if I can trust - is this is a real Selmer ? Because he's selling this for a real bargain. If it is a Selmer, is it a good saxophone or just a student horn?

I have two attached photos for helping the horn pros to help me ;)

Cheers!

That is a Signet. It was made by Selmer USA. You may be confusing Selmer USA with Selmer Paris. Selmer USA (now called Conn-Selmer), makes mainly student line instruments with a few notable exceptions. Selmer Paris, is an old venerable company that only makes professional saxophones.

That Signet in the photos is probably from the 1980's. It's considered a step-up, or intermediate, student model. On eBay, it would probably bring between $300 and $400 USD if it is in good playable condition. Some of the earlier Signet saxes with the left bell-keys and "S" brace between the bell and body will bring a little more.
