Hello,

I am a beginner sax player. I found this sax (see http://forum.saxontheweb.net/showthread.php?t=68320 for the pictures) which is said to be a vintage 1960 King saxophone. I have doubts. I need your opinion, please help me. Thanks in advance.

I think your KING is infact a SML Marigaux and a much later than 1960 rather late 1970 because of the High F#.

It looks like a honest horn all being perhaps more expensive than usual, nothing to do with the american kings

If it is marked "New King" then it is a Keilwerth. The Mariqaux was sold by King in the US and it did have both names on it. I can't tell from the photos but It looks more Keilwerth than King (Mariqaux).

Bruce it is not marked New King and has the King crown very similar to a cleveland but with all the bell keys on the right side, but is not a Keilwerth

this dosnt look like the build quality is good enough to be a sml. looks more keilwerth/umi to me -student quality at best.

This King is student modern (1990-2000 years) King 662 (almost similar Conn 22M or Armstrong 3055T).

Silver-sax got it right! It is a student King made by Conn-Selmer (Steinway).
