There is so much available these days to use when we practice, to the point where it can actually be overwhelming and perhaps counterproductive if we try to use too many of them or focus on the means rather than the ends.
What things (e.g., Band in a Box/iReal pro, play alongs, transcription software, etc.) do you find most useful in your daily practice?

Yep - I have been guilty of procrastination (I'm bad anyway) as overwhelmed and lack structure in practice. With no end goal (a piece, gigs etc) to keep my attention, I drift.

I've recently restructured and set out an actual plan;
Long tone exercises, overtones, tone work
Improv/ear training
Finger exercises

Then I'll move on to listening to and playing along with stuff, whether it be to improvise to, transcriptions or blasting out something I already know

So the only tech I use is a tuner and spotify and headphones!

Audacity, Mic, Tuner, and my recent addition - keyboard. Hypothetically, think the greatest practicing aid for me would be an unlimited amount of time and a room that was dead silent so I could play without disturbing my wife.

lately i've noticed a couple of threads by folks embracing study of the transcriptions of some all time great players. that's what i'm doing during the seclusion.

Anytune (like slowdowner) for transcription, looping parts...
Metronome.
Drum Genious, specially for odd time signature practice.
Recently added recording to my practice, so mic and DAW software. This opens things as i can write in any progression and then loop for practice, or i can just record a technique exercise for listening and checking flaws.
Sometimes i use Ireal but i usually avoid chords and let drums n bass or, better, only bass.

Amen. I';ve actually practiced less since the lockdown. My wife is still working and she';s commandeered the music room for an office.

As for the original topic: tuner, metronome, occasionally I play along with the YouTube videos that have the notes written out. I have an app that has music to play along with and it grades me. Sorry but I can't recall the name of it right now.

How does Anytune compare with ASD ? I like Anytune but the biz model sucks . They seem to want to nickel and dime you for everything
